About Kapuche lake
Known as the world's lowest-altitude glacial lake, Kapuche sits at just 2,450 meters (feet). It is a pristine, turquoise-blue lake fed by glaciers from Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal.
The name "Kapuche" comes from Gurung words meaning "fallen ice that has settled on flat land". Located in a narrow valley, the lake is famous for its calm, mirror-like reflections and occasional small avalanches that can be witnessed safely from the shore. Because of its low altitude, it is an accessible destination for families and beginners with virtually zero risk of altitude sickness.
