About Mattikhan
Mattikhan is a serene hilltop village and hidden gem located just south of Pokhara on the border of Kaski and Syangja. Known as one of the best spots for unobstructed mountain views without the typical tourist crowds, it offers a peaceful alternative to busier hill stations like Sarangkot.
Perched at an elevation of approximately 1,540 meters, Mattikhan serves as a natural lookout point providing a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and the entire Pokhara valley. It is famously described as a site from which one can see parts of up to 13 different districts on a clear day. The village maintains a traditional Gurung and local hilltop charm, offering a "digital detox" atmosphere with lush greenery and fresh mountain air. Unlike its more commercial neighbors, Mattikhan remains largely unspoiled, making it a favorite for overnight camping, sunrise photography, and travelers seeking authentic rural Nepali hospitality through its community homestays and boutique mountain resorts.
