I began in Pokhara, taking a motorbike to Banthanti, above Ulleri, though rain made the off-road slippery. From Banthanti, I trekked 1.5–2 hours to AAMA Cottage (2717m) via steep steps that soon eased into a forest path. After resting, I continued 2–3 hours through Doya Ple and Tutan to Kokhe Danda (3309m), reaching APA Cottage at the top. The sunrise views were stunning. Rain and snow are possible; be prepared. Despite the effort, the peaceful trails, kind hospitality, and spectacular vistas were worth it.
Although improvements to the road up to Banthanti would make the journey more accessible, travelers should still prepare for the possibility that heavy snowfall can easily obscure the trail beyond, making navigation challenging without proper guidance.
